It wasn’t until I went with a friend to her family’s plot in a small town in Croatia that I realized how the water table in New Orleans dictated a European style cemetary. Having grown up in the New York metropolitan area with the acres and acres of prime real estate used by cemetaries, it was an intriguing concept to see the crypts and vaults like your photo. Thanks for sharing and reminding us there are many ways to honor our dead.
If you want to try some great boiled crawdads you have to look up Cajun Seafood. The place doesn’t look like much and it’s not in the best neighborhood, but the crawdads kick ass. Have a ball, we love NOLA!
Meet Brian and Shannon In 2010 Brian and Shannon sold most of their worldly possessions, packed the rest in an RV, and set out on the first leg of a global travel adventure.

There is really an atmosphere captured here.
Thank you
The cemeteries in New Orleans are incredibly beautiful and eerie you captured it perfectly.
Great shot Brian. I’ve enjoyed browsing through your blog. Am thinking of taking a trip to New Orleans in February. Any tips?

“Coffee an’ donuts” at Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter should go without saying, but people just don’t know any better!
NOLA is one of my favourite cities–the architecture, the atmosphere, the music, the food….
Ours too . . . we have some more photos posted here . . . New Orleans: City of Contrasts
